... it is January right?

We just wanted to make sure because it was 58 degree's outside today.... which... was wonderful because it meant that I got to go on my very first outside walk with Mima and Mom... (and my 4 legged furry brothers!). I'm a big fan of the outside.... such a big fan that it put me right to sleep :) ... but we had lots of fun and I know mom was VERY excited to get some fresh air. It's supposed to be similarly warm tomorrow so we'll hope to repeat the exercise!

Dad went back to work today - we missed him but can't wait to see him when he gets home. It's been great having Mima here too... been able to cuddle with mom lots while she makes meals ... a big help! AND, in other big news... my birth certificate came today.... so apparently I'm official now!! Hooray!

Howdy!

Well,

Baby Reese Anne Bartlett was born 1/17/12 at 12:56am.... weighing 7lbs 10 ozs and measuring 21".

Baby's doing great and mom's recovering well! We've been quietly settling in to life as a family at home.... finding a routine.... getting the hang of being parents....

She's a joy to have. We're pretty blissed out.... she's getting more and more control of her head... though is still very bobblehead like....but other than that we're planning on single handedly putting kodak back in business. In lieu of a lot of milestone updates (she sleeps, eats and poops).... here's a bunch of pics :)

Certifiable....

Wednesday marked the last day of our childbirth class... they didn't laugh us out the door... so ... I guess we passed :) We're "certified" to be parents... or something like that... certifiable is more like it.. :)

It was a good class, we learned relaxation techniques, Brian learned what a labor coach is supposed to do, tips, tricks and we got to see a bunch of different types of births (c-section, natural, epidural etc etc). Brian's also taking a Daddy Boot Camp class this coming saturday ... and he and one of the guys from birthing class were talking about a pair of comically large scissors to cut the umbilical cord with... oh boys.

In other news - there isn't much other news. :) House still looks great with all the Bartlett visit work... this weekend we're going to slap a coat of paint on the new master bedroom dresser... may get some drawer organizers for the nursery... it's a big weekend :) lol... The pic posted is of the book wall Larry and Brian built for the nursery - don't mind the upholstery on the chair in the corner - that beauty's gonna be slipcovered! :)

Mailbox Rob arrives today for a short visit... he'll be staying in the new "Garden Apartment"... (i.e. basement :) ). Haven't seen him in a few months so i'm sure my belly size will be a shock!!

First Post!

Well - here we are - Bartlett's in NJ. We are two so far... well... two and three quarters at least.... Just spent a wonderful week with Brian's parents. They were visiting for the week to help get us ready for Baby Bartlett!  It was such a great week and so productive. We're so thankful for their hard work, it really helped to get us ready. Nursery painted, furniture put together, closet redone... and the boys built the book ledges I've been longing for!  Plus - Susan and I spent a day in our kitchen and re-organized everything and spent some time creating a pantry for all the canned goods. We have room in the kitchen now for baby bottles and all the gear that comes with baby...

I've been feeling pretty good... we had a dr's appointment last week. It was nice to be able to share that with Susan and Larry - the dr's was great because even though we weren't scheduled for one - they put us in the ultrasound room so they could see the baby. AND! We found out that the baby had flipped, hooray for no more breech baby!  It's been pretty weird ever since though because I'm feeling kicks above the belly button line which I haven't felt before..... kicks in the ribs and upwards, all very new sensations!

Brian's been working his tail off to help get the house ready too.... he finished up the hard work he and Mom and Dad Sperber had done on the deck during Octoberblizzard (that was a crazy day!).... but the deck looks glorious!

Boone and Buddy are just wandering around wondering what exactly is going on... I'm not sure they know what they're in for.. :) Buddy's yearly vet appointment went well though.... some minor abnormalities in his urinalysis but follow up tests show that all is well.

:) We're looking forward to winding down projects.... also... thanksgiving next week! Looking forward to more quality time with friends and family!!!  So long for now!
